“I can’t stop looking at you.”

“I love spending time with you.”

“I never want to leave you.”

“I never want to let go of you.”

“Come closer.”

“Stay a little longer.”

“How did I get so lucky.”

“You’re beautiful.”

“You don’t know how much you mean to me.”

“You make me so incredibly happy.”

There we were, telling each other over and over again how much we loved each other, without actually saying the words, “I love you”.

But we knew.

It was written in what we said to each other. It was written in the way you looked at me, and in the way I looked back. It was written in the way our gazes connected like magnets. It was written in the way you kissed my nose, and the way I kissed your forehead. The way you pulled me closer when I rolled away, and how you held me tight in your arms.

We never said it,

but we knew.

We always knew.

Which is why it is so crazy to think

that when we wanted to say it

the words were trapped on our tongues,

and our eyes stared at another in the

most desperate and most loving way.

But we knew.

We always knew.

You loved me,

And I loved you.
